Tasting Notes - International Dinner Montalcino


The International Dinner featured wines from Montalcino and the surrounding hills.  These glorious bottles were paired with stunning cuisine that enhanced the already exquisite wines.

Antipasti:

Anna's Olives, Bruschetta Pomodoro, Francesca's Mascarpone Cheese Spread
Wine: 2011 Terre di Tufi Vernaccia di San Gimignano (Astor Wines $14.99)

Primo:

Pasta: Duck Ravioli with Butter Sauce
Wine: 2011 Ciacci Piccolomini Rosso di Montalcino (PLCB 46754 $25.99)

Secondo:

Meat: Osso Buco, White Beans & Escarole
Wine: 2007 Carpazo Brunello di Montalcino Riserva (Wine Access $65.00)

Orange Fennel Salad

Biscotti
Wine: 2011 Banfi Moscadello (Saratoga Wine Exchange $28.14)
