Third Annual Soup Pair Bowl - January 11, 2023

It's Time for AWS Pittsburgh Chapter's Third Annual Soup Pair Bowl

Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at
7 p.m

Join us on January 11, 2023, at 7 p.m. as we sample soups and pair them with wines. Soups and wines aren’t opponents but rather great teammates if you know which ones to pull off the rack and bring to the table!

Soups on the menu so far, I mean in the lineup will be: Tom Yum Soup (vegetarian), Chili with Ground Beef, Broccoli and Cheese, Butternut Squash, Wedding Soup and Seafood Bisque. The wines will be a surprise. We must keep the suspense up somehow!

Our soup makers so far are: Anita Gallagher, Mary Eld, John Hoffman, Karen Henrich, Bob Dering, and Carol Huthmacher. Dessert makers are Rachel Gallagher and Molly Shirey.

This is a true competition, and we will vote for our favorite soup and wine pairing or dessert and wine pairing!
The winner(s) will receive a free entry for the raffle wine!

Reservations will be accepted until January 4 to allow our chefs to prepare.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR WINE GLASSES.

About our new location:

PYCO School of Music, 150 Lake Drive, Wexford, PA 15090

It's called PYCO School of Music located in Wexford adjacent to the Wexford Plaza, near Whole Foods. They have a recital hall that they offer as a rental space that is available for our group to use on the second Wednesday of each month from 7-9 p.m. It is also the same cost for our group as Evergreen was but with more space, a better sound system and 100 parking spaces on a level parking lot.

The space is 60 ft. long by 30 ft. wide and has a 17 ft. high ceiling to provide great acoustics so everyone will be able to hear our presenters. Set up for our events is included with the rental fee and we have access to a kitchen. The space can accommodate plenty of people (up to 180) and we hope to offer a holiday party this year in this venue as well. We know that change is hard, but sometimes change can mean improvements! We are certain that this new space will work well. Below are a few photos inside the recital hall and the kitchen.
